Everyone has that amazing pair of black high heel shoes in their closet. Wouldn’t it be great to use those fancy heels to match any outfit? We have the solution! Shoe clips! Take your staple pair of shoes and make virtually hundreds of different shoe clips to match any outfit and/or occasion. In addition to using these shoe clips with high heels, they are also great to embellish ballet flats as well as boot cuffs.
The instructions are simple. Take two shoe clips…..
and hot glue ANYTHING to them, to make a stunning pair of shoe clips every time.
Items used in above pictures:
1. 5/8th inch velvet elastic, made into a tuxedo bow
3. Petal puffs
A few pointers/variations we learned along the way.
1. You can glue directly onto the back of flowers, bows, etc. Or you can add an extra felt circle after the shoe clip is glued on to ensure the top of the shoes do not get any scuffs from the shoe clip.
2. When making smaller shoe clips, glue the clip further towards the edge of the piece, instead of in the center, so it sits further down the toe of the shoe.
3. When using crystal buttons or flat back embellishments, use a felt circle behind and onto top of the clip, making a “shoe clip sandwich”.
We hope you will have some inspirations from this quick high heel shoe clip tutorial. We have hundreds of items that make amazing shoe clips, it is almost TOO hard to choose which ones!
My personal favorite is the hot pink petal puffs. I see these as amazing bridesmaid shoes, or even just heels to go with a fancy dress to wear to a wedding or fancy event! Share with us some of the items YOU like to use for shoe clips on your high heel shoes!
